Dr. Sal Sandoval is currently working and teaching with Merced Faculty Associates. Before that, he was a staff physician for Golden Valley Health Center in Merced and Planada, California for 36 years.
Dr. Sandoval’s family immigrated from Mexico, he has had a strong interest and medical expertise on farm worker health issues, particularly pesticide poisonings. He served on Migrant Clinician’s Network as Western Stream Coordinator during the late 1980’s. He also served on the National Advisory Council on Migrant Health (NACMH) as Vice Chair, advisory to Secretary of Health Donna Shalala.
Dr. Sandoval attended UCSD medical school where he obtained his medical degree in 1975. He also obtained an MPH with an Occupational and Environmental focus from USCD in 2006.
